Learning to be Free

To be very still
in time and
to resist possession.
To be open to
this beatitude
and still astonished –
to accept it and
be whole enough
to let it go
with trust, in belief,
without design.

To love you
and be humbled
by your beauty,
without caching
the recollections
of tenderness or awe
against the fear
of a bankrupt future.
To receive this abundance
without demands
fear, ego or strife –

from moment to moment.
